Hotel jobs in Europe
Indian hotel management graduates are trained well, and European hotels need staff. The route depends on whether the job lasts a season or the whole year.
Roles with the most demand
- Front office agents and night auditors
- Food and beverage service: waiters, bartenders, restaurant supervisors
- Housekeeping supervisors and room attendants
- Kitchen staff (see chefs in Europe)
- Spa therapists in resort hotels
Seasonal work
Ski resorts in Austria, Italy and Switzerland (outside the EU) hire for winter; coastal resorts in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece and Croatia hire for summer. Italy's quota decree reserves seasonal tourism places each year, with employers applying on fixed dates. Seasonal permits usually do not allow family reunification and end with the season.
Year-round roles
City hotels, international chains and airport hotels hire year-round. These go through standard work permits. Salaries are often below Blue Card thresholds, so national routes apply.
How to stand out
- Experience with international brands, named on your CV
- The local language at A2–B1, plus English
- Familiarity with property management systems (Opera, Protel and others)
- Strong references and a professional LinkedIn profile
- Flexibility on location: smaller towns often hire faster than capitals
Know your rights
Hospitality workers in Europe are covered by labour law and, in many countries, collective agreements that set minimum pay, overtime and rest. Ask for the contract in a language you understand, and keep copies of timesheets.
