About the Europe-India Chamber of Commerce & Industry
We help skilled Indian professionals build careers in Europe, Indian companies enter the European market, and European companies grow in India, with clear guidance and the right introductions.
Why this exists
Europe is short of people. Hospitals in Germany can't find nurses, restaurants in Italy can't find cooks, shipyards in the Netherlands can't find welders. Meanwhile India trains huge numbers of nurses, engineers, cooks and IT people every year, and many of them would like to work abroad for a while.
At the same time, European companies are growing in India. About 6,000 already work there, and each new one needs the right set-up, local partners and managers who know how things are done back home.
The opportunity is real. What gets in the way is usually not talent. It is not knowing which visa applies, which document is missing, which recruiter can be trusted, or who to call. And too many agents promise jobs in return for money.
The Europe-India Chamber of Commerce & Industry was set up to fix that: one place, in Paris, where you can ask a question and get a straight answer, with the official link so you can check it yourself.

Pankaj Thakur
Pankaj Thakur leads the Europe-India Chamber of Commerce & Industry with one aim: to build stronger, more practical business ties between Europe and India, grounded in hands-on support and relationships people can trust.
He brings more than a decade of international experience across Europe and Asia, working with entrepreneurs, growth-stage companies and international teams on market expansion, business development and commercial strategy.
Based in the Paris region and active in Brussels, he pairs an international outlook with a hands-on way of working. His focus is simple: clear advice, strong relationships, and turning opportunity into results.

Why Europe and India
- Strong economic logic. Europe and India offer real room for trade, service partnerships, technology exchange and long-term commercial growth, now backed by the EU–India trade agreement.
- Real demand for support. Many companies want to explore the other market but do not know where to start, whom to trust, or in which order to move.
- Better outcomes through guidance. Good support at the start saves time, avoids costly mistakes and keeps people focused on the opportunities worth pursuing.
What we do
- We answer questions. Visas, recognition of your diploma, language levels, CVs, tax, housing. For Indians going to Europe and Europeans going to India.
- We help employers find people. A clinic in Bavaria looking for nurses, a hotel group in Goa looking for a European chef. We help them find candidates and, for hiring in India, work with recruiters who hold a government licence.
- We advise and connect companies. Consulting and advisory services for European companies entering India and Indian companies entering Europe, with introductions to people who have already done it.
- We bring people together. Business dialogues in Paris and Brussels, membership for individuals, businesses and strategic partners, and advocacy on the issues that hold business back.
- We write things down. Every guide on this site is in plain English, dated, and linked to the official source.
